 SMALLER PLATE CAN REDUCE OBESITY

A new research said that using smaller plates,knives,forks,glasses and other tableware could help people to reduce the amount of food we eat. If we use a large plate, we will fill it with food which means we eat too much.

A research of Cambridge University in the UK suggested that using smaller plate could lower the amount of food we eat and help people to prevent over eating without doing any fancy diet.

Dr. Gareth Hollands and the team research that there are some good ways to help people reduce their risk of obesity by reducing their size, availability, appeal in shops and restaurants.

FOOD CRIME IS AN INTERNATIONAL PROBLEM

There is a new and growing danger with the food we eat. Criminal gangs are selling billions of fake food to supermarkets around the world. That could be dangerous food. In the past a few years there have been scandals, In Britain police found tons of horse meat in products that were labeled as beef and the police also found cheaper peanut powder instead of almond flour. This could be harm or kill people. In 2008, 6 babies died in China after drank fake milk powder. The gangs can make much money from this business by making fake food than selling drugs. The assistant director of Interpol, told the BBC that food crime is similar to the drugs trade. In 33 countries food crime is a serious international problem. The police found children's candies that were dyed with a poisonous chemical, 430.000 l of fake drinks and 22 tons of long-grain rice that was labeled as high-quality rice. The British government said that using technology might be the only way to beat the food crime.

 

 FOOD WASTE

Seattle is introducing a system to fine people who waste food. People will get $1 fine if more than 10% of their garbage is food and $50 for business. Because American waste 40% of the food they buy so that's why the government want to reduce the amount of food that people and business waste.It also aims to increase the amount of waste it recycles from 56% to 60%. It doesn't aim to make money or raise revenue but this system is made to make people aware recycling is so important.
